Health Department Gets Additional Flu Vaccine

After its initial supply ran out, the City of St. Joseph Health Department now has more flu vaccine available to those who qualify.
(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) After its initial supply ran out, the St. Joseph Health Department now has more flu vaccine available to those who qualify.

The health department was able to get 120 additional doses for adults. Vaccines are also available for children.

Buchanan County residents between the ages of 18 and 64 must be considered uninsured or under insured to qualify. Women who are pregnant are not eligible to receive the vaccine. 

Children who qualify for the Vaccines for Children program, including the uninsuuerd and those receiving Missouri HealthNet, can receive the vaccine through the health department.

Adults with an income at or below 200% of the federal poverty level and cannot afford a prescription co-pay are also qualified for the vaccinations.

Vaccinations are available from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday at the St. Joseph Health Department at 904 South 10th St.
