McAndrews, Cook Bringing 3-point Titles Back to St. Joe

A pair of St. Joseph sharpshooters were on display at holiday tournaments in central and south Missouri this weekend.

Benton's Mallory McAndrews and Lafayette's Billy Cook both won three-point shooting titles at their respective tournaments.

Cook claimed his Friday evening for the second straight year at the Neosho Holiday Classic. The Irish senior hit 13-20 three-point attempts in the first round, and sealed it with 12 more makes in round two.

McAndrews won the girls division of the shootout Saturday afternoon, then out-shot the boys champ Rico Nimrod from Raytown South 34-24 to be crowned three-point champ of the State Farm Holiday Hoops tournament.

Cook's Lafayette Fighting Irish are in the Neosho Holiday Classic championship Saturday night against Sagemont (FL). McAndrew's Benton Cardinals will play Hickman in the semifinal game Saturday.
