North Andrew Girls Advance to First State Championship Game

The Lady Cardinals defeat Chadwick 67-53 to reach Saturday's Class 1 State Championship game.
(COLUMBIA, Mo.) The North Andrew girls basketball team defeated Chadwick 67-53 at Mizzou Arena on Thursday to earn a bid to the Class 1 State Championship game, the first in program history.

North Andrew (29-2) will face Walnut Grove  at 11 a.m. on Saturday after their 86-25 win over Marion County.

Chadwick (25-6) jumped out to a 9-0 lead before Chuck Fox called his first timeout. North Andrew went on to outscore their opponents 37-21 until halftime, capped off by a long three-pointer by Danielle Chambers as the second quarter expired.

The Lady Cardinals extended their lead with a 20-point third frame, making the spread to big for Chadwick to overcome. Sophomore Katie Cole posted a double double with 20 points and 20 rebounds. Senior Danielle Chambers added a team-high 23 points and nine boards.
