Savannah Athletes Sign Letters of Intent

John Weeks will run track at Northwest next year, while Bert Ernst will play basketball at the University of St. Mary.
(SAVANNAH, Mo.) A pair of Savannah Savages will keep their athletic careers alive in college next year.

Seniors John Weeks and Bert Ernst each signed letters of intent Wednesday morning. Weeks will run track at Northwest Missouri State, while Ernst will play basketball at the University of St. Mary.

Weeks has carved his place in the Savannah record books holding the school's fast times in the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash and the 4 x 100-meter relay. Once he joins the Bearcats, he'll run the 100m, 200m and 400m.

Ernst led Savannah during his senior season scoring 20.4 points per game. He was also an all-state, all-district and all-conference selection. He joins a program that went 17-12 last season.
