Griffons Beat Missouri Valley for Second Straight Win

Missouri Western breaks up MIAA play with a 63-38 win over the NAIA's Missouri Valley.
(ST. JOSEPH) No Griffon finished in double figures, but the Missouri Western women secured their second straight victory by a 63-38 final over the NAIA's Missouri Valley on Tuesday.

Casey Sobalski finished with a team-high eight points off the bench, which accounted for 40 of MWSU's points.

Fresh off a win over Benedictine College, Missouri Valley shot just over 25 percent from the floor and went 2 for 11 from beyond the arc. Paris Johnson led all scorers with 13 points.

After jumping out to an 8-0 start, the Griffons (7-9) held the Vikings to just 12 points over the final 16 minutes of the first half. JaQuitta Dever and Jalissa Lewis each added seven points.

MWSU gets back to MIAA action on the road Saturday against Missouri Southern.
