WEB EXTRA: Tollefson, Bolles Weigh in on National Title

Bearcat alums Dave Tollefson and Blake Bolles talk about what it meant for them to play for a national championship.
(FLORENCE, Ala.) Some of the biggest names in Northwest Missouri State football history went without hoisting a national championship trophy.

The Bearcats made five consecutive title games trips from 2005-2009, losing to Valdosta State, Minnesota-Duluth, and Grand Valley State twice before finally knocking off GVSU for their third championship in 2009.

Former Northwest defensive end Dave Tollefson played in the 2005 championship game before going on to win a pair of Super Bowls with the New York Giants. Blake Bolles, brother of current Bearcat quarterback Brady Bolles, led the Bearcats to the drought-ending victory in 2009.

Both weighed in on what it meant for them to play for the ultimate prize Division II.
