Former Chiefs Players File Lawsuit over Head Injuries

(KANSAS CITY, Mo.) The Kansas City Chiefs organization faces a lawsuit brought on by five former players.

According to court documents, Alexander Cooper, Leonard Griffin, Christopher Martin (and his wife), Joseph Phillips and Kevin Porter are named as plaintiffs in the suit.

The former players allege they suffered head injuries during their time with the Chiefs. They all played for the organization between 1985 and 1998.

The lawsuit states that the men suffered "multiple concussive and sub-concussive injuries" that caused or contributed to other neurological problems like Chronic Traumatic Encephalophathy (CTE).
