(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) Missouri Western kept its home win streak alive Saturday afternoon edging Lindenwood for a 65-62 win. The Griffons (9-10, 4-8 MIAA) have now won five in a row inside the MWSU Fieldhouse, and are 8-2 playing in St. Joseph this season.

Sharniece Lewis scored 17 points in the win -- her highest output since December 21st -- and her biggest shot came with less than a minute left in the game. With the shot clock winding down, JaQuitta Dever drove to the paint and kicked out a pass to Lewis at the top of the key. The senior from Warrensburg released the three-point attempt just before the buzzer and sank it to give Missouri Western a five-point lead with 46 seconds left.

Quenisha Lockett also scored 17 and added nine rebounds for Western. Thanks to productive performances from Lewis and Lockett, the Griffons' bench outscored the Lions' bench 42-15.

Missouri Western's final seven game stretch to close out the regular season begins with a road contest against Northwest Missouri State on Wednesday.

(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) Missouri Western held close with Lindenwood for the entire game Saturday afternoon, but the Lions didn't relinquish the lead for the last 25 minutes and handed the Griffs (9-11, 4-8 MIAA) a 66-64 loss. Western's now dropped eight of its last 11 games.

Dareon Jones hit a three-pointer with 25 seconds to play bringing the Griffons within three points of the Lions. Western kept the momentum forcing a Lindenwood turnover on the next possession, but Adarius Fulton's three-point attempt was off the mark ending the threat after the Lions pulled down the defensive rebound.

Ryan Devers -- the MIAA's seventh leading scorer -- reached his average with 17 points and also grabbed nine rebounds. Freshman Charlie Marquardt added 15, and Jones finished with 10 points.

Now tied at tenth in the conference standings with Lindenwood, Missouri Western goes on the road Wednesday to face Northwest Missouri State.
