Minnesota Vikings Sign Former Western QB

Travis Partridge signed with the Minnesota Vikings Sunday morning.
(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) During his time at Missouri Western, quarterback Travis Partridge led the Griffs to the program's first outright MIAA title, their first playoff victory, and set a school record with 36 career rushing touchdowns.

Now the signal-caller will compete at the game's highest level.

Partridge signed with the Minnesota Vikings Sunday morning as an undrafted free agent. He's the first Griffon quarterback to sign with an NFL team since Missouri Western Hall of Famer Mike Solomon in 1981.

Minnesota's searching for stable quarterback-play. Three different players spent time at the position in 2013, and the Vikings selected quarterback Teddy Bridgewater with the final pick in the first round of the NFL Draft Thursday night.

Partridge, a Savannah High School graduate, was voted first-team All-MIAA in 2012, as well as honorable mention All-American by two publications.

The Griffons won 29 games in three years with Partridge as the starting quarterback.
