Griffon Men Rebound for Win over Upper Iowa

Missouri Western snaps a two-game skid with an 84-79 victory to start their homestand.
(ST. JOSEPH) After winning four of his first five games at Missouri Western, Brett Weiberg and Griffon Men's Basketball came into Monday night's came on a two-game skid.

Ryan Devers and Cedric Clinkscales each finished with a team-high 16 points as the Griffons rebounded with a 84-79 win over Upper Iowa at the MWSU Fieldhouse.

Clinkscales added 14 rebounds for his first double double of the season. Cortrez Colbert added 15 points, while Dareon Jones poured in 14.

MWSU (4-3) jumped out to a 10-point lead midway through the first half, but it dwindled to three at the break. Upper Iowa (2-4) sliced into another 11-point deficit in the second half to go on top 67-66, their only lead of the night, with 6:56 to go.

The Griffons used a 15 for 17 second-half effort from the charity stripe to regain the lead and put away the Peacocks. 

MWSU has two more games as part of their current homestand, beginning with the University of St. Mary (Kan.) on Saturday.
