(JEFFERSON CITY, Mo.) There may be $100,000 dollars with your name on it sitting at the State Treasurer's Office in Jefferson City.

State Treasurer Clint Zweifel is trying to find the rightful owners of unclaimed property.

His office currently holds $810 million in unclaimed property belonging to 4.7 million account owners, including 74 accounts with more than $100,000.

One of those accounts waiting to be returned may belong to someone in Buchanan County.

Zweifel's office has returned $2 million in unclaimed property to 14 account owners since February.

The largest return was an insurance policy payout worth $368,000 that went to a trust in Kansas City, Mo.

Unclaimed property can come from bank accounts, stocks, bonds, uncollected insurance polices, government refunds and more that have gone uncollected for at least five years.
