(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) Members of the 139th Airlift Wing's civil engineering squadron helped build a Habitat for Humanity home near downtown St. Joseph on Saturday.

The build is the first one that members of the squadron have done locally.

They say it's a good way to give back to the community and use their skills to help others.

"We just want to give back to the community and to just St. Joe because we've had so many opportunities given to us with all the training and the skills that the Air National Guard has provided us with, we just want to make sure we can positively give back," said Chief Robert Aebersold.

Crews finished building the roof of the house Saturday afternoon.

The completed Habitat home should be finished later this month.
