21 Patients Treated for Fireworks-Related Injuries at Heartland

(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) The holiday weekend sent more than a dozen people to the emergency room with fireworks-related injuries in St. Joseph.

Heartland Regional Medical Center treated 21 during the three-day weekend.

According to ER staff, the 4th of July brought the most injuries with 16 patients.

Four were treated on July 5 and one person was treated on July 6.

A hospital spokeswoman said all of the injuries were minor.
