Accident Involving 13 Year Old Driver Sends 2 to Hospital

(MAYSVILLE, Mo.) A one vehicle accident sent two Maysville people to the hospital with serious injuries on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Highway Patrol, the accident happened when Brilyn Harmon, 13, was traveling in a 2006 Chevy Uplander on southbound Route A, just north of Maysville. At 12:50 P.M. Harmon lost control of the vehicle, traveled off the east side of the road, overcorrected and skidded down an embankment.

The accident partially ejected Harmon, who was taken by ambulance to Heartland Regional Medical Center. One passenger, Joni Harmon, 33, was lifeflighted to Truman Medical Center.

Neither the driver nor the passenger were wearing their safety belts.
