A Facebook page was created Sunday in his honor where people could post plunge videos and challenge others to take a dip in cold water.
Organizers say they're overwhelmed by how fast the word has spread about Landon and his illness.
"No way did we think it was going to turn into something like this. It's just terrific to so see God working in people and the help is just unreal and indescribable," said Joshua Wright who helped created the page.
The Plunge for Landon page has more than 5,000 likes and counting. Wright says thousands have taken the plunge and posted videos.
Tarkio High School will host a volleyball tournament for Landon, Sat. April, 5 at 8:00 a.m. in the high school gymnasium. The fee is $100 per team. To register, call Keisha Williams at 660-623-0710 or Winter Owens at 816-244-0827.
