(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) One of the cleanest food fights ever finds success in St. Joseph.

More than twenty businesses signed on for the challenge earlier this year to help Second Harvest Community Food Bank.

The food fight is part of the annual corporate food drive. Some businesses collected cash, others collected food items. The money was converted to pounds for the grand total.

This year the event brought in more than 71,000 pounds of food.

Second Harvest says that is enough to provide more than 54,000 meals to those in need.

The food fight takes place during Hunger Action Month.
