Chillicothe Couple Pleads Guilty in Embezzlement Scheme

(KANSAS CITY, Mo.) A Chillicothe couple has pleaded guilty to federal charges of wire fraud, money laundering and filing a false tax return.

Donna M. Preszler, 60, and her husband, Terrance W. Preszler, 63 pleaded guilty in federal court Thursday.

Donna Preszler admitted to embezzling close to $4 million in a wire fraud scheme between 2006 and 2012.

Both Donna, and her husband, admitted to not reporting the embezzled money on federal income tax returns.

According to the U.S District Attorney's Office, Donna Preszler used her role as accounting manager at Burdg, Dunham & Associates Construction Corp. in Hamilton to add false payments to herself.

She is no subject to a sentence of up to 33 years in federal prison without parole. Terrance Preszler could be sentenced to a maximum of three years in federal prison without parole.

The couple must forfeit any property purchased with the proceeds, which includes close to $4 million, property, cars and ATV's.
