The Corps says its cutting the release of water from the Gavins Point Dam in South Dakota from 30,000 cubic feet per second to 12,000 cfs.
The Corps is trying to prevent flooding downstream.
Right now, the Missouri River in St. Joseph is at 16 feet, a foot below flood stage.
It's expected to rise as high as 22 feet by next Tuesday before dropping.
