(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.)  Hundreds of motorcycles lined Felix Street in downtown St. Joseph Saturday afternoon for the 12th annual Ride for Ryan event.

The ride is held annually to honor the life of Ryan Consolver, a biker killed in 2002.

More than 100 bikers rode around town despite rainy conditions earlier in the day.

The group gathered at Coleman Hawkins Park in St. Joseph for a silent auction and prizes.

Janis Conolver said the event is important to keep the memory of Ryan alive.

"It was important the first year to keep his memory alive and the first year was so big and the next year was bigger and bigger and it's just kept growing," she said.

Money raised at the event will go to a scholarship fund for children wanting to get into construction.
