(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) An investigation by the Buchanan County Drug Strike force led to nine arrests in St. Joseph Wednesday.

Officers responded to Circle View Apartments at 128 Park Lane after receiving tips about several suspects with outstanding warrants.

The Special Response Team obtained a warrant to search an apartment.

Capt. Mike Donaldson said officers found controlled substances, possibly prescription drugs, inside. He said they believe some of the suspects were cooking the drugs and injecting them.

Nine people were arrested on investigation of drug possession. Six had outstanding warrants.

The six arrested for outstanding warrants include: 34-year-old David Phinney, 34-year-old David Mitchell, 32-year-old Kevin Gray, 50-year-old Nancy Briggs, 53-year-old Karen Hudson, and 40-year-old Tracy Kurtz.

Investigators have not released the names of the three arrested for possession of methamphetamine and prescription pills.

Donaldson said officers seized evidence from the home as the investigation continues.
