(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.)   If you have some old electronic items sitting around that you want to get rid of, instead of throwing them away they can be recycled.  Vintage Tech Recyclers gave the chance for the community to drop off old electronics such as computers, printers, and televisions, in order for them to be recycled properly.  St. Joseph residents were ready to do their part in helping the environment and create some extra space at the same time.

"The goal really is to make sure that all the materials, any hazardous materials, really everything in there, the plastics and everything are all recycled and reused to make new products," said St. Joseph School District Technology Director David Lochhead.

"All this stuff that you see right now, it's taken out of the landfill.  So we do help the environment in doing this process," said Vintage Operations Manager Branko Ugarcina.

Although Vintage Tech Recyclers were only accepting drop offs Wednesday morning, the city holds electronics recycling events throughout the year.
