Within a matter of days, the home of Lynda Silvan-Ovando is already starting to take shape.
"Just yesterday morning this was just a floor. Now we're already going under roof, we've got heating and cooling here, the electricians here, just so much is happening it's crazy. We may have windows in by the end of the day," Melissa Koch with St. Joseph Habitat for Humanity said.
Volunteers work in shifts from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm trough the end of next Sunday, when they plan to have the home completed. It's all part of Habitat for Humanity's "Build Blitz".
The Build Blitz is in honor of Habitat for Humanity's 15th anniversary.
While the organization helps people build a home of their own, the volunteers say they are willing to lend a hand to help make Lynda's home a reality.
Jessi Hays is a Habitat Volunteer and friend of Ovando. She says, "This means a lot to me actually cause i feel like i've been helping her cause she deserves this, she really does."
It is not too late if you are interested in helping. Volunteers are needed on Tuesday and Thursday of this week.
