Angela "Angie" Jones received the Myra P. Sadker Award from the Career Technical Education Equity Council at the annual convention in St. Louis.
"Angie is an educator who has truly broken tradition," said Regenia Briggs, Executive Director of Hillyard Technical Center, citing previous recognitions.
In 2011, Ms. Jones was named "Missouri Breaking Traditions State Secondary Educator."
She was honored as the "Missouri Secondary Female Breaking Traditions" state winner in 1996, while enrolled in the welding program at Northwest Technical School in Maryville.
She is the first person to earn duplicate honors for "Breaking Traditions."
Over the past 15 years, her career focus has been on firefighting and as an emergency medical technician.
Ms. Jones is a trainer of fire safety and EMS, and is a firefighter for the City of Maryville and Polk Township fire departments.
