(WASHINGTON, DC) Kansas City is still in the running to host the 2016 Republican National Convention.

Kansas City took another step forward in the site selection process Wednesday, making the cut from eight to six.

That puts Kansas City in the mix with Cincinnati, Cleveland, Dallas, Denver and Las Vegas.

A convention team will visit the final six cities to take a look at the venues, media workspace, hotels and other financial needs.

A final decision is expected by late summer or early fall.
