(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) We here at KQ2 have a big reason to celebrate.

The station is marking its 60th anniversary.

The station went on the air 60 years ago on this date in 1953 as KFEQ.

Current and former KQ2 staffers got together Friday night at The Ground Round to share memories from the past six decades.

"It's so nice to see so many people that I've worked with over the last 30 years at the TV station," said current KQ2 General Manager Heather Shearin. "I'm happy have made the opportunity and made the trip to come to St. Joe tonight and be here for this celebration."

Our 60th Anniversary special broadcast will re-air Sunday at 12 noon and again Monday at 11 a.m.
