(MARYVILLE, Mo.) The Maryville public library has received $36,000 dollars in grants to replace and update equipment.

The library's director says there were several items that needed to be updated or replaced because of wear and tear.

The library has a growing number of patrons and with older equipment, it's difficult to serve the needs of the community.

"These funds are vital because people come in every day to use our equipment. They rely on these grants to pay for that new equipment," stated Stephanie Patterson, the library's director.

The library purchased computers, a new copy machine and tables and chairs. They also plan to order more books.
