Investigators with Missouri's Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms have been called in to investigate a string of explosions at a Grandview business that were felt across the Kansas City area on Tuesday night.
City officials say it happened shortly after 7:00 p.m. at a lawn care business near Interstate 49.
Firefighters did not go inside the building to battle the flames after reports that ammunition inside may have caused at least some of the explosions.
Witnesses say say they heard at least a dozen more explosions after the initial blast.
"I heard a real loud boom followed by a bunch of other loud booms. At first it sounded like those fireworks they shoot off around New Year's," said witness Larry Hibner.
Natural gas has been ruled out as a cause.
No injuries have been reported.
