St. Joseph City Manager Bruce Woody received a show of support and a pay raise Monday.

At its city council meeting, members voted 6-3 to approve a 1.5 percent pay raise--the same raise previously approved for all city employees in the 2015-16 budget.

Woody has been city manager for the past 3 1/2 years.

He had previously been the city's public works director since 1997.

His salary will now be $137,000 yearly.
