A sobriety checkpoint is planned for St. Joseph this month.
The St. Joseph Police Department is working with the Missouri DWI Task Force during the operation.
Officers say the checkpoints are used as a tool to keep impaired drivers off the roads.
More than 10,000 people die in drunk driving accidents every year.
