The Missouri Department of Conservation's Free Fishing Days are June 7 and 8. During the weekend, anyone can fish in the state without a fishing permit, trout stam or trout park dayily tag.
Normal regulations on limites and size do remain in effect. Some private fishing areas may still require permits.
The MDC hopes the event gets more people out fishing around Missouri.
According to MDC, more than 200 different fish species are found in Missouri, with 40 of them being game fish for the state's more than 1.1 million anglers.
