(FAUCETT, Mo.) If at first you don't succeed, try, try again.

That is the mentality of school leaders from the Mid-Buchanan R-V School District when it comes to passing a million dollar bond.

"We are going after it a third time," said Superintendent John James.

The bond appeared on the November 2013 ballot and this past April's ballot, but was shot down by voters both times.

Still, the district has not lost hope.

A committee of more than a dozen supporters are luring in 'yes' votes through Facebook.

"That's going to be a lot of it. Basically, outreach, door-to-door, and just trying to get some facts out there that really wasn't understood," said John Anderson, President of Vote 'YES' for MB Bond Committee.

The facebook page was created two days ago.

It has a banner that reads, 'Vote Yes Mid-Buch,' and daily posts stressing the safety and security of kids in the district.

"In addition to being able to re-key the building, which there's multiple, multiple outlets throughout the school that someone could maybe get in to and then adding security cameras," Anderson said.

Most of the money from the $1.2 million bond would fund a multi-purpose room that would also serve as a tornado shelter.

"We've tried to convince them that it's a very usable space for the school, that it's something that we can use on a daily basis for our kids and that we need the extra space," James said.

School leaders believe the bond hasn't passed because of the tax increase that comes with it although they believe it will be worth it.

"You're getting a lot for your $.15 on this deal," he said.

The district says they will not try to convince those who voted against the bond to change their mind, but instead, round up more yes votes.

"I think the approach right now has to be a personal approach to find more people who support it and get them to the polls," said James.

The bond will appear on the August 5 ballot.
