(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.)  The view downtown in St. Joseph is now a little nicer with the completion of a mural.

The artwork spans across six buildings between 5th and 6th Streets on the north side of Edmond.

The title of the mural is "Queen of the River Town, King of the Trails." It pays tribute to St. Joseph's western history.

"We came up with this idea of the settlers that left St. Joe," said artist Sam Welty. "They've crossed into Kansas and before they venture off into the unknown they took one last look back at this town that is called the Queen of the Rivertown, King of the Trails."

The work was commissioned by the St. Joseph Downtown Partnership.

Welty needed only two weeks to complete the mural.
