(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) As Missouri Western State University prepares for its Centennial Celebration, the Board of Governors is looking toward the university's future.

The board met Thursday to discuss the Master Plan. Nothing is set in stone just yet, but school leaders hope to expand the campus by adding more parking and residence halls. Missouri Western hopes to accommodate 10,000 and eventually add a home for the university's president on campus.

While it's still early, university leaders say they're focused on bringing more students to St. Joseph.

"It's being proactive as the future unfolds and as we continue to grow," said University President Dr. Robert Vartabedian.

"This is gonna be about a seven-month process so right now we're doing our analysis of the campus," added architect Steve Clark.

The university is also looking at ways to bring more businesses to the area for students.
