NASA Cameras Capture Solar Flares

(CNN) The sun unleashed two solar flares Tuesday morning.

NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory caught them both on camera.

In the photo above from NASA, you can see the brilliant burst of light along the left edge of the sun's surface.

NASA says they're bursts of radiation from the sun.

Experts say harmful radiation released during the bursts aren't a threat to humans because the radiation can't penetrate the Earth's atmosphere.
