(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) The Noyes Home for Children, in St. Joseph, opens its doors to children when their homes become unstable.

In the past two years, more families have fallen on hard times, and the number of kids living there has doubled to more than 40 with half being newborns to 5 years old.

They are looking for help as the home continues to grow.

"Childcare workers one and two, those are individuals with their high school diploma, or equivalent, or a four-year degree as well," said Chelsea Howlett, The Noyes Home Program Director.

"Got a lot of overtime happening, and my staff are doing double-duty," said Stephanie Ray, The Noyes Home for Children Executive Director.

The Noyes Home is celebrating its 120th anniversary.
