(SAVANNAH, Mo.) A learning program for children is teaching parents some lessons too.

The Rolling Hills Library in Savannah is offering a way for parents and kids to learn together.

Kids gather around the table for arts and crafts and story time, while parents learn lessons of their own.

The 'Read From the Start Program' gives information on parenting.

It teaches parents important skills on how to interact with their children as they grow up.

"Make them aware of some good criteria for buying books for your children, there's some of that that's covered and it just shows parents that it's a good way to spend some time with your child, bond, and get them ready for school by reading to them," Saundra said.

Kids get to take home free books when they leave.

The library offers another session on Thursday.
