(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) The Midwest has seen its fair share of severe with this year and we have another chance this weekend. Ahead of that storm, there's an easy opportunity to prepare.

The Red Cross has partnered with Hy-Vee in Maryville for preparedness days.

Friday and Saturday, volunteers are sharing information about building disaster kits and offering advice about Red Cross apps. The mobile technology includes tips for tornado safety and much more.

"We've had so many storm go through northwest Missouri, Maryville, you know, Nodaway County and around St. Joe also. So, what we're doing is handing out information, talking to people about being prepared, how to be prepared, what they need to do," said Shoba Brown, Red Cross volunteer.

Volunteers will be at Hy-Vee in Maryville from 10 to 4 on Saturday. They're also collecting donations for the Red Cross at the checkout line.
