The Remington Nature Center taught kids ages six to 12 basics in archaeological digging.
The summer program gives the kids the chance to find rocks and Native American artifacts.
"It helps them to able to learn as they are having fun and it's just a unique opportunity to find authentic Native American artifacts that have been found in Northwest Missouri," said Manager Andrea George. "It's just a fun, fun time for the kids."
The nature center plants the artifacts for the children to find.
The items are authentic and were donated to the Remington Nature Center.
"I'm into fossils and I'm really, really into rocks," said third grader Mariah Daw. "I love finding cool rocks."
The nature center is holding two more similar digs later this summer.
