School District Announces New Roles for 2 Employees

(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) Two faces familiar in the St. Joseph School District will be taking on new roles.

Jason Callaway will take over as principal for Truman Middle School. He is replacing Sandy Steggall who was recently promoted to Secondary Director of Curriculum and Instruction for the district.

Callaway has been an assistant principal with Central High School since 2005. His salary as Truman's principal will be $97,908.

Joey Austin has accepted a position as the district's Director of Communications. Steve Huff, who retired in June as Assistant to the Superintendent, used to handle the communication duties.

Austin has been working with the district as a communications specialist since 2013. Her salary will be $69,230.
