(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) Missouri Health Care Association held its annual Golden Age Games, at Missouri Western State University, on Friday.

It was a fun day for nursing home residents, throughout Northwest Missouri, to get out of the house for a day of fun and competition.

Event organizers say was a great time for the residents, as well as Missouri Western students.

"We had a 102-year-old lady here today, and this was not her first game. They come back every year. They just have a blast. They enjoy the day, and that makes it worth it," said Michelle Walters, Missouri Health Care Association.

"It gives them a place to come for their activities, for the games themselves. And again, it gives our students a direct, applied learning opportunity," said Rick Hardy, Professor at MWSU.

Students studying Physical Education, or Health and Exercise Science helped with the games.
