Road crews from Kansas treated 565,000 miles of highway last week. The work cost nearly $3 million dollars between Feb. 3 and Feb. 6.
That cost includes more than 8,000 tons of salt, 1,300 tons of sand, nearly 20,000 tons of salt/sand mix and 345,000 gallons of brine.
KDOT's traveler information line was flooded with calls as well. More than 8,000 calls were made to 511 during the storm.
