Special Olympians Hold Winter Games

(WESTON, Mo.) More than 100 participants showed up Thursday for the 25th Annual John L. Cassidy Heartland Winter games.

The Special Winter Olympics is one of 22 events held year-round.

Events this year included cross country, floor hockey, figure and ice skating and snowshoeing.
Kevin Daily and his best friend Jason Bostock said they enjoyed the races and competing.

"I just got done doing the 1k against my friends and my friend beat me, said Bostock.

His friend Daily says, "I won and I came in first place and it made me happy."

The Special Winter Olympics will wrap up Friday. It's one of several multi-state events in the country.
People came from as far away as Arkansas and Nebraska.
