St. Joseph Area Men Admit to Roles in Transporting Child for Prostitution

(KANSAS CITY, Mo.) Two St. Joseph area truckers admit to their involvement in taking a child across state lines for prostitution.

Tony Eugene Wardlow, 55, of St. Joseph pleaded guilty in federal court Friday. The registered sex offender admitted to transporting the child to Texas in Sept. of 2011 to engage in sexual activity.

According to court documents, Wardlow met the victim while h/she was working as a prostitute on Independence Avenue in Kansas City, Mo.

Wardlow’s co-defendant, Thomas Farrell, 49, of DeKalb, pleaded guilty to aiding and abetting the crime, saying that he knew Wardlow was engaged in prostitution activity with the victim before the trip.

Wardlow is scheduled to be sentenced to 10 years and three months in federal prison without parole. Farrell faces up to three years in prison.
