(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) Two St. Joseph Red Cross volunteers will soon be helping out with fire relief efforts in Washington state.

Terrence Harrington and April Miller will head to areas where Red Cross shelters are set up.

Wildfires have already destroyed almost 300,000 acres in Washington.

The fires have forced people to leave their neighborhoods and more than 200 people have stayed in numerous Red Cross shelters since the fires started.

Harrington and Miller will be in Washington for at least two weeks and will fill any role that is needed.
