(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) Helping hands from St. Joseph have answered a call to help landslide victims in Washington State.

April Miller left St. Joseph to help with Red Cross sheltering operations following the deadly landslide in Arlington.

At least 16 have died and the death toll is expected to climb. Dozens are still unaccounted for.

Miller said she will help those left homeless by the landslide.

"I like to help people. If something would happen, like any type of disaster I'm there. They rely on the Red Cross to help them," stated Miller.

This is Miller's fourth deployment for the St. Joseph chapter of the Red Cross. She'll spend about two weeks in Washington.
