(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) The Big 12 Tournament brought some big numbers to Kansas City.

More than 30,000 fans filled the streets of the Power and Light District on Thursday.

Most fans had their differences when it came to rooting for basketball teams, but they shared a passion for the one thing; basketball.

"People who are fans of basketball, period. We're all here today; we're having a great time," said Susan Trafton, Kansas Fan.

"It's an unbelievable atmosphere. It seems like it gets better every year. It grows, and grows, and grows. There's no place to have it than Kansas City," said Matt Stephenson.

About 50,000 fans are expected to take over Downtown Kansas City for the championship.
