(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) After 3 days of activities and fun, Sunday marked the final day of Trails West in St. Joe. It also marked the final day of work for a man that has volunteered at the festival for more than a decade. Officer Mike Moore is retiring from the St. Joseph Police Department after 41 years and has volunteered at the Trails West festival for the past 12 years. In those years Mike has seen everything from a tent collapse to a horse slipping and falling.
"Just all different types of things. Lost cell phones or lost kids or anything like that so we do a little bit of everything," said St. Joseph Police Officer Michael Moore.
Those who know him say they are sad to see him go. The St. Joseph Police Department volunteers as security throughout the Trails West weekend.
