(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) Second Harvest now has more meat to distribute, and it's all courtesy of Triumph Foods.

The pork processing plant donated 2,000 pounds of meat to distribute to the food bank's 100 partner agencies.

Second Harvest's Executive Director Chad Higdon says meat is the most requested food.

He says distributors that donate food are a big help for their food bank.

"We really are thankful for the partnerships and relationships from the businesses that produce and manufacture food in our service territory because they really are our one of our strongest assets to really go out and try to get healthy, nutritious product for the members that we're serving," he said.

Second Harvest says this donation is big enough to provide more than 1,500 meals in their 19 county service area.
