(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) A special event was held in St. Joseph at the VFW Post 1668 on Saturday to help military veterans learn about benefits they are eligible to receive through the V.A.

The goal of the annual event is to make a positive change the quality veteran's lives by helping them with any disabilities or lingering medical issues from their years in the service.

The job placement center was also in attendance helping the veterans find jobs that will work around any medical issues or disabilities they might have.

Organizers say the most common disability they encounter is hearing loss.

Any veterans who were unable to attend Saturday's event can still contact the VFW Post 1668 and ask to speak with a service officer.
