(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) With the August primary coming up in a few months, the Buchanan County Clerk's office is encouraging residents to register to vote by holding a pair of registration drives.

Even if you just need to change an address on your voter registration, the drive will allow you to make the needed changes.

The primary is August 5th and with close races expected, Buchanan County Clerk Mary Baack-Garvey says every vote will count.

"There's one on the Democrat ticket and one on the Republican ticket that are going to bring out some turnout I think. There's a judge race for the Circuit Judge Division Six and then there are two Republicans running for the presiding commissioner," said Baack-Garvey.

Both registration drives will be held at the Hy-Vee in St. Joseph. The first drive is tomorrow, Wednesday, June 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the second will be on Wednesday, July 9 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

"All our paperwork is very simple and it takes minimal time so you know this is important to be registered."
